Re: Dutch Ref
Hi Ronny,
Greetings at the start of the new season!
I seem to recall that a while ago there was a ban on new installation of 3g/4g pitches in the Netherlands due to concerns about the health effects of the rubber crumbs (which come from reused road tyres that are shredded). Of course this could be my imagination.
Am I imagining this? Are there any updates?
thanks!

Hello Noggin ,
The 3g/4g pitches are still allowed in the Netherlands but almost 95 % of the newe fields do have a cork fill in nowadays.

Thank you for checking. I wonder if the trend to use cork will spread to other countries, including here. I suppose it is too difficult to replace the rubber crumbs on existing pitches, so this will only happen with new pitches anyway.
Are young players still banned from playing on the rubber crumb 3G/4g pitches in the Netherlands?
