Apology

I'll start on the football matters on the Match Forum later. I would like to hear others opinions on the shambles first. Back to this post for now.
I sincerely hope that someone from our club make an apology to Sutton for our 'fans' utterly disgraceful behaviour. After an utterly wreckless challenge from Bragoli ( he went over the ball and it was a potential leg breaker), a section of supporters were mercifully berating the Sutton player. He was clearly in distress and the comments being thrown at him were disgusting. He had to be helped from the pitch after the incident and after the game. If people from Sutton leave here thinking that is representative of our supporters it would be wrong and a shame on us. They can think that our football is awful, and be correct, to think our supporters are, would not. An apology is in order.

PS hope the lad makes a full and speedy recovery.

Absolutely spot on. The behaviour of the 'fans' who were berating the player and the referee was genuinely disgusting. Halesowen Town as a club at the moment has very few redeeming features

Andy, I know you don't normally "do" social media, but it might be worth you posting that elsewhere where Sutton supporters might have a better chance of seeing it. You thoughts are obviously balanced, genuine and well put (as ever)

100% back up the comments Andy has made. Definitely looked like a red card and the comments aimed at the player / offocials were out of order. Unfortunately, dwindling crowds make one voice much more audible!

Disgraceful behaviour, it really was.
I hope the player isn't too seriously injured, and makes a speedy recovery.

Were those abusing the player and officials regulars or unknowns?

Certainly one next to me was a regular and I recognised others as well. I was appalled but it isn't the first time it has happened. A section of the crowd seems to think abuse of officials.and opposition players is acceptable. It isn't. Things need to change. I might be old fashioned but it didn't used to be like this.

There were actually quite a few having a go, both to the left and right of where I stand. Recognise by sight but that's all. Believe me the level of abuse was something to be heard, it really was. I'm no saint when it come to language on occasions im ashamed to say, but this level of abuse to a player who was clearly in a lot of pain left me quite shocked. I've not seen that type of verbal assault at the Grove before, hopefully wont again.

Kev, if I knew how to or was registered with any of those formats I would. If anyone with some computer nouse could link all this to one of the aforementioned sites that would be good.
