But an eel is part of the fish family. Unlike a mackerel sky, which is a type of water vapour and not a fish at all (nor an island off the coast of Scotland).

Very true. Yet I am now somewhat confused. Are we unveiling a new water based creature or not? We could do with someone that could leap like a salmon I guess....
