What Song Should The Yeltz Run Out To?

Post by swipey » 27 Aug 2013, 17:51

Fan power - yeah man! 8)

After liaising with Halesowen Town FC's Web Communications Manager (a text to Guesty), we can choose the song that The Mighty Yeltz will run out to prior to kick off at The Grove.

Thought we could do this in two threads - this one for ideas, then lock this thread and start another one where you can vote for the selected tracks, then the winning track I'll burn onto CD for DJ to blast out.

No time limit on this, but the quicker the better I feel.

Right then, I'll start the ball rolling - JH's bunch running out to this:

I wouldn't mind welcome to the Jungle by guns and Roses. Although perhaps more appropriately it should be oh what a beautiful morning as this is a song which has been long associated with the club although it is perhaps less exciting it would seem appropriate. When we visited Corby they ran out to a country music song relating to Steelmen not the most exciting of songs but appropriate to the club as they were called the steel men.

Oh what a beautiful morning would be ok, we could then knish with what we normally sing after Halesowen Halesowen Halesowen etc etc, would start the game on a positive and get the players going, just what we want ! Nice one Wheels !

*To the tune of Blue Is The Color*

Blue is the color
Football is the game
We're all together
And winning is our aim
So cheer us on
Through the sun and rain
Cos Halesowen
Halesowen is our name

Here at The Grove
Whether rain or fine
We can shine all the time
Home or away
Come and see us play
You're welcome any day

Blue is the color
Football is the game
We're all together
And winning is our aim
So cheer us on
Through the sun and rain
Cos Halesowen
Halesowen is our name!

I could record the fans chanting and put it on top of whatever tune (e.g. oh what a beautiful morning...) but it's 50/50 whether it would work; I'm worried about clipping, distortion and peaks & troughs on the waveform amongst other audio technicalities... or in laymens' terms: it might sound shit.

I think Oh What A Beautiful Morning is too depressing to run out to. Need something upbeat. Something that will put the players and supporters in the mood. Not to depress them all.

Sorry I don't like either of the you tube tunes. ???

I agree wheels as his choice has a relevance. ;D

Or "All things bright and beautiful" ;)

and stuff "the windows" rubbish. ???

Perhaps a short list of credible contenders could be voted for?

Enter Sandman by Metallica or Feuer Frei by Rammstein. Louder the better!
