Friends of the Grove - Monthly Draw

As a result of the recent ground grading inspection the football club was required to make some improvements to some of the signs placed around the ground. For example, the 'Exit' signs in the shed end, and a first aid sign to name but two. I have requested that the football club get a quote for these signs and if reasonable the Friends of The Grove will fund it. This is an example of how I propose the money to be used - for the things that aren't necessarily budgeted for at the start of the financial year but tend to crop up during the season to keep the ground in good order and looking smart. A great example how us as fans are doing that little bit more to help the club.

Apologies for doing this a little later than normal, 1st week back at work and all that...

Hopefully you all saw our little photo in the Express & Star earlier in the week and we also had a mention in the Halesowen News tonight. The aim was to obviously try and raise awareness of the draw and hopefully increase the number of participants. If you can help by getting friends, colleagues, family members or just folk from the pub involved that would be great. I've got to the point now where most people I know have joined the draw so your assistance in helping us grow is crucial.

As you're aware, we had a break in at the ground this week also with items stolen from the tool shed. Fortunately they couldn't get the ride on mowers which are used for most of the work but some of the smaller petrol mowers and strimmers were stolen along with some tools. I know the money generated from the draw came in very useful after the summer break in (where we paid for the installation of the roller shutter for the press box) and it may be we can offer some support to the club again when we know the full extent of the break in.

I have spoken with members of the management committee about organising a social evenings and possibly doing a match day raffle. Nothing concrete, but if anyone would like to be involved with that please let me know.

As ever, your support is much appreciated by the football club and hopefully we can continue to improve off the pitch just as the team is on it! See you in the bar...

We've also had a number of new people sign up to the draw so we're well over 50 now. As ever, we're still looking at getting as many people to join the draw as possible. Not only does it increase the prize pot, but will also help us in maintaining/improving the ground.
