Coventry City fan here. As you may know JP started his career in the Coventry academy, where he was described by our U21 coach as "the most natural goalscorer we have". He did make a few first-team appearances and scored a couple of goals but never really broke through to become a first-team regular. Never fulfilled his potential. I'm actually shocked how he has dropped down the levels. I would have thought he would end up as a solid League 1 or 2 player. I've been following his career after he left Coventry. Maybe he thinks if he catches the eye at Tamworth, it might lead to better things. Sorry you only got a few games out of him. Best of luck for the rest of your season.
Good of you to add your two penneth to this discussion. Didn't realise he came through your ranks. He is a quality act no doubt, just wish he had seen the season through with us, as I feel we could have won the league with him, and there is no better shop window than that.
As for the 'Yeltz' question, we get it about 4 thousand times a season and there are probably as many different answers.
If Ada or Doc read this they may regale you with the Pungas Catfich story, easily the most believable version of all...

Pungas is a MYTH?!?! That's a shocking and scandalous statement. I read it in FYI. Ada would not lie, I'm sure. You'll be telling me there's no Father Christmas next.

I know its non league and player will move on for an extra packet of crisps, but it does feel like we've been used a bit. As Andy says, class player and easily fits in at National League Standard but it leaves us royally in the lurch. Very disappointing.

I thought I heard when he joined that it was probably just short term to get his fitness levels back up and he would probably move on, hence no contract.
I would have thought if any chance of him staying till end of season at the start the club would have 'signed him up'.
Good luck to the guy and thanks for what he gave to us. it may have given the other players the belief we are good enough to challenge for this league.
Knowing this could happen at any time I would hope the gaffer had been seriously looking for an alternative player.
With Ponts gone, Clayton doodah gone and Wynter suspended we are now looking very lightweight on the bench again

One other thing ... why is your team nicknamed "the Yeltz"? Looked all through this website and could not find the answer anywhere.
Definitively described in this recent podcast at about the 20 min mark.

Such a shame. He was getting spotlighted here and the last home game there were 3 EFL scouts and no doubt who they were watching.
I’m certain if he had not been lured byTamworth he would be getting picked up now in the January window.
As it is he is wasting valuable time in obscurity
