Just shows why we support Non- League football - at least they try!

Reverend Lutley, it's bad enough that blue nose Brummie taking it out on us without you, a fellow VILLA supporter, joining him and deriding our great club.

Within your statement lies the clue - Aston Villa has been a great club, something which the followers of Small Heath Disunited can never lay claim to! ;)
My biggest problem is that I need the cold weather to go before the next home game, so that I can avoid wearing my AVFC - very warm - benchcoat! 8)

Villa fans have suffered worse. Much, much worse.
Joe Mercer's Minnows were 5th on Boxing day before the 1963 Big Freeze. When regular matches resumed, the fixtures backlog brought games thick and fast and we had a terrible run:

Bad times continued into the 60's, near bankruptcy and relegations to Div 3, although the Tommy Docherty brought some enjoyment for a while. Unfortunately, The B*****s had their excellent Hope/Astle/Clarke side at the same time(fortunately watching The Yeltz during the 60's was as enjoyable as an era) but they missed an opportunity to build on this and dominate the West Midlands scene as 50,000 crowds again flocked to Villa Park in Div 3 with a Wembley League Cup Final as well. The crusade had begun which was to lead to magnificent success in 1981 & 1982 ;D ;D

Wear your coat with pride Lutley, keep the faith!
