Bust be another game in between. Did they used to have replay after replay in the olden days until a game was decided?

In the 50's when we played Villa A etc both home and away fixtures were often played at The Grove, one exception being when Big Ron was in the Villa side which we played at Somers.

Having witnessed my first game at VP in 1947,( now that was a real winter), I have both endured and enjoyed the vicissitudes of being a Villan.
However, being of a sensitive nature, I find it difficult to bear the jibes of those who seek to mock my aficion for those who wear the Claret and Blue and have forged a proud, illustrious history in Aston B6.
I shall, therefore, take the encouragement of LLL and wear my coat, summon my inner strength and face my tormentors with fortitude and a two fingered salute!

They certainly did.

FA Cup 1954/55

3rd round 08.01-A Brighton 2-2 Thompson
10.01-H Brighton 4-2 Lockhart 2, Southren, Thompson
4th round 29.01-A Doncaster 0-0
02.02-H Doncaster 2-2 aet
07.02-N Doncaster 1-1 aet
14.02-N Doncaster 0-0 1
15.02-N Doncaster 1-3 Dixon
Two rounds – 7 games played! 3 of the games v Doncaster played on neutral grounds.
I saw the game at Villa Park and Charlie Williams the erstwhile comedian and game show presenter played centre-half for Doncaster!
Notice how quickly the replays were played. No 10 days between games then!
