Not sure if it’s been mentioned elsewhere, but just to make us all feel even older, Villa’s full back, Matty Cash is the son of our old left back, Stuart.
I was reading an article about Matty Cash yesterday and apparently he is considering playing for Poland if the opportunity arises as he qualifies via his grandparents and the opportunity as an England right-back may be limited

I never get that idea. Why would anybody play for a basically random country just because they can? If I was a footballer and was not good enough to play for England, and then somebody told me granny was from East Timor, it wouldn't enter my head to want to play for them. I would just want to try and improve enough to want to play for my own Country.

I had the chance to play rugby for Tanzania when I was a student, and would have grabbed it with both hands.
Before knocking it on probably.
Unfortunately the accompanying flight to Dar-es-Salam never quite worked out.

Ha, a mate of mine who I played rugby with at university lived in Dar-es-Salam when he wasn't at SOAS and they were looking for some erm, larger gentlemen, to literally bulk up their pack. His dad was the manager so selection was no issue, and paperwork is very easily available for a few shillings in the back pocket.
All sorted.
However, as a permanently broke student, the free flight to East Africa never materialised and the £500 needed might as well have been £50,000...
