Charity game at The Grove

Post by beastyyeltz » 05 Apr 2014, 22:55

Hi all, just thought I'd let you all know that Midlands Soccer Coaching (a Saturday football coaching course for U17's and below, run by ex-Birmingham city player Paul Tate) are organising a charity game on Sunday 4th May which will be played at our hallowed turf, The Grove. The game will be between Ex-blues over 35's vs Dad's army and friends. Dad's army consists of the dads of the kids who play on the Saturday course and others, although a few of the kids who play on the Saturday, including me, will be playing too. All proceeds go to charity so your attendance will be welcomed. Your support for Dad's army would be welcome too, since we're coming up against ex-professionals ;). I hope to see a few there and raise money for a good cause and have an enjoyable day out.

Will let you know of more details as soon as possible.

He won't be playing he has an injury so he is managing the blues over 35's. I'm sure if you stand behind the dugout he might be an easy target!

It should be a great day, I mean I'm loving training! All we do since we have about 25 in the squad we just play 11-a-side games! So it should be great fun playing but also we are hopefully raising a lot of cash for a great cause!

my young god-son read this and, bless him, he said "did birmingham city used to be a good team in the old days then?" i replied "yes, they did actually, but you wont remember, it was long before your time" (he`s only 34)
