Amazing scoring feat

Post by juanillo » 28 Nov 2013, 14:52

After putting 8 past AFC Totton, Hemel Hempstead Town have now scored the full range of goals from 0 to 10 in competitive matches this season. This has to be unique?

What is the highest the Yeltz ahve ever got to in terms of such a scoring sequence without any gaps?

Dean Brennan must be doing something right.

Here are the goals and opponents so far:

10 Bashley
9 North Greenford (FA Trophy)
8 AFC Totton
7 St Margaretsbury (FA Cup)
6 Corby Town, Bedford Town
5 Redditch United
4 Bashley, Witham Town (FA Cup)
3 Burnham, Banbury United, Arlesey Town, Weymouth, Sutton United (FAC), Hornchurch (FA Trophy), Dulwich Hamlet (FA Cup)
2 Hungerford Town, St Neots Town, St. Albans City, Aylesbury United (LGE CUP)
1 Frome Town, Witham Town (FA Cup)
0 Hitchin Town, St Neots Town, Hungerford Town(FA Cup), Sutton United (FA Cup)

Or have a massive budget? Didn't Mackey leave Stourbr*dge for more money?

Quite possibly, but a great sequence by any standard and a bigger budget doesn't always bring rewards.
E.g. look at Spurs and their lack of goals.

Whereas Chelmsford are on a run of losing league games 0-6, 0-5, 0-4, 0-3, 0-3. Not surprisingly a new Manager appointed today.

1960-61 we scored 0 to 9 but excluding 8.
1982-83 we scored 0 to 8.
There may be others.....
