Long time Halesowen Town fan Jeff Harris passed away on Friday in Russell's Hall Hospital following a deterioration of health over the last few years resulting in him living in a residential care home for that time.
Jeff and my Dad along with Millie, Jeff's late wife, followed The Mighty Yeltz for many years both home and away enjoying and enduring both good times and bad.
Jeff was also a member of Halesowen Athletic and Cycling Club in his youth where he and my Dad became great friends along with George Hopewell, George Harris and Don Sergeant and many more. A friendship that was enthusiastically rekindled in their later years on the terraces of The Grove. It was great to see.
Sport doesn't matter? Footballs only a game?
