Gavin Hoyte

Is today's giant killing captain of Maidstone the Gavin Hoyte who came to us on loan in 2008? If so, the irony is, I think, that he played for us in the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup against Maidstone when they beat us 4-1.

Good memory, but I don’t think it’s him (only after checking on FotMob)

According to https://www.fotmob.com/players/105826/gavin-hoyte he was at Arsenal in 2008

So, contrary to footballing wisdom, there are two Gavin Hoytes.

October 2008: "HALESOWEN Town have been given permission to include on-loan Gavin Hoyte for their FA Cup home tie against Maidstone.

The defender joined last week for three months from Cambridge United, having impressed Yeltz manager M* M* with his performances in helping King’s Lynn win the British Gas Business Premier title. Cambridge have agreed Hoyte can face Maidstone but he will not allowed to play in next week’s FA Trophy tie at Durham City.

Halesowen will await a fitness test on Alex Cowley before confirming their side after the wing-back had to miss the midweek Birmingham Senior Cup defeat at Atherstone Town with a hamstring problem."
