Quick Quiz

Who are ISIS’s least favourite team, because they’re named after the two things they hate the most?
West Ham.

No, that’s not the quiz, but their score tonight reminded me of two other things.
Me and YeltzDoc Jnr went to watch Barcelona squeeze past Huesca 8-2 a couple of weeks ago.

As I was busy telling anyone at the Camp Nou who would listen (so that was nobody), I’ve seen 10 goals in a match before.

When?

6 - 4 Dudley, the superb Mark Penn scored twice

Too easy for you LLL. (And I thought you would have been out celebrating The Bears’ success today?)

Dudley would have hoped to do better in the second set.

Details and any match reports appreciated.

10 goals. I was at 9-1 Darlaston in 1961. We’d won 9-0 away 3 months previously

Some more 10 goals here

I noted that 3 of our heaviest defeats have taken over the last 10 years: Salisbury, Cambridge and worst of all, Evesham. I had conveniently erased the Cambridge one from my memory though

That was the time when Shaun Cunnington worked wonders just to get a team to fulfill the fixtures, especially long midweek trips such as Salisbury & Truro. Players cars were filled with petrol on Manor Way before getting on M5.
I saw Shaun’s no. 2 Paul Tomlinson was with Quorn when they played Worcs City last week. Henry Eze was in their side.

I think we forget what a debt of gratitude we owe Shaun for getting us to the end of that season. He wasn’t the best manager in some respects, but in others he was the best we have seen at the club in my time.

Henry Eze? I wonder how many clubs he has had now? Must be at least 20.
His wonder goal at Tivvy still lives in the memory though.

I wish I had my words that I posted for the Club on its’ official site when Shaun left. The debt of gratitude was included and I was told later that it was appreciated by him.
